As the first month of the year comes to an end, we want to give you a recap of our favorite pieces we found on Farfetch. With that, we start a new series, that will inform you about the trend pieces of each month. This guide will help you throughout the whole year. If your New Year’s resolution was to elevate your style, we at casual closet are here to help. If your New Year’s resolution was to shop less, then we will probably give you a hard time, since these pieces are just irresistible. Check them out!
1. Gucci – GG jacquard cashmere scarf
With this jacquard cashmere scarf from the new season, Gucci is reinventing its GG print. The different coloring, on the front and back, allows you to switch to whichever side complements your outfit of the day most. Our team’s favorite colorway is the green, but it is also available in a burgundy, dark blue and a gray with beige.
2. d1 milano – Ultra Thin
This watch is a real showstopper. It’s made out of stainless steel and is of an auburn color. The classic design, paired with this original color, we had to put it in our favorites of January. The Italian watchmaker is offering an affordable option to anyone who doesn’t want to directly go to the famous and luxury brands, like Rolex or Patek Phillippe. This D1 Milano watch still gives you the ultimate comfort and a classic, elegant yet modern look. We will keep our eye on that designer.
3. Daily paper – Crew neck cotton jumper
Here is another brand to look out for. Daily Paper is a company from the Netherlands, that often takes inspiration from the African heritage of its founder. Today they are famous for their street style pieces. Though the design is really effortless, the materials are top-notch. This cotton jumper is timeless in the cream color. The print on the front makes it recognizable and goes perfectly with blue jeans, like shown in the photo below.
4. Acne studios – tied waist single breasted coat
You can never go wrong with a black wool coat, as it is a piece that all men should own. Acne Studios reimagined the classic key item, by giving it a major update. With this original frame, it plays with feminine lines, but still keeps a clear structure to convey an elegant masculinity. The details are so toned back, that the belted design is the center of attention. We see that coat as a new staple piece of the brand.
5. A.P.C. – check pattern shirt jacket
The lumberjack look is really having its comeback. While we at casual closet are usual more into classic pieces or street style, could have a hard time with this trend. But A.P.C created a jacket that combines the check pattern and the polyester wool mix, that gives you that warm and sturdy feel with a classic boxy style. The collar and the gray buttons pull the piece together. It can be worn in many different ways and is really adaptable to almost any style.
6. Ferragamo – Gancini Ornament leather loafers
We know, that this is not a new style, but this classic leather loafer from the new season is giving us Italian gentlemen vibes. The horse bit metal detail is a common design we also find with at Gucci a lot. The smooth brown leather is easy to combine and will give your outfit an upgrade. With the option to pull down the heel, you can even wear it in a more casual manner.
7. Stone Island – Hooded Puffer Jacket
We know that everyone is waiting for spring, but this jacket from Stone Island makes us beg for some more cold days. It will most definitely draw attention with the slightly shiny look combined with the special way of quilting, both on the hood and the back. The puffer comes in many different and interesting colors. But we love the unique petrol color the most.
8. Domrebel – later abstract print shirt
This shirt gives you the cool, effortless look, while still looking really put together. The Québécois brand is best known for their flashy street style pieces. They always go for classic cuts and combine them with artsy prints. This is one of their more toned down designs, which makes it more accessible to basically every customer. Nevertheless, you will stand out with this gray shirt.
9. Nudie Jeans – Rad rufus straight jeans
This basic jeans are ones that will become your new staple piece. Made out of 100% organic cotton and a sustainable production line, this is also the best choice for our environment. The Swedish brand has several shops in Europe, Asia, North America and even in New Zealand that offer a repair service, as well as a second hand offer. We see this brand as one that is defining the future of a more environmentally friendly fashion industry.
10. JJJJOUND x ASICS GEL – KAYANO 14 low top sneaker
The design studio JJJJound was founded in 2006 and has since experienced one hype wave after another. Justin Saunders and his team regularly target well-known brands for collaborations in addition to high-quality basics. Some of the big names involved include BAPE®, Reebok, New Balance and Dr. Martens.
The ASICS Gel Kayano has a white mesh base with silver metallic overlays. It includes white details and has a white midsole with a cream outsole. Additionally, the shoe features JJJJound branding on the side ankle, and the co-branding is also found on the insoles.
