You ever feel like you’re stuck in the same place stylewise. We help you look more put together.

Never change a running system. That is the mantra many men seem to follow, when it comes to their personal style. T-Shirt, jeans, some sneakers and off they go. There is nothing wrong with that style, but sometimes you might feel like there is something missing. That little edge or a formal touch. We are here to help you and show you five easy ways how to elevate your style as a man and which pieces you need to add to your closet.

1. Switch up your jeans

A good pair of blue jeans is something everyone should have as a staple in the wardrobe, but sometimes it is better to leave them in the closet. We tend to underestimate the effect that a nice pant or fashionable slacks can have. That is probably the easiest tip to follow, because you only have to change one thing. Easy. Don’t be worried that you might look too formal. Just pair them with a basic T-Shirt and white sneakers and you’re good to go. Check out our favorites from Uniqlo.

2. Throw out old shirts

Ok, let’s be all honest here. We all have multiple T-Shirts and hoodies that we should have left in our college dorm. Some of them have sentimental value and that is ok. But that doesn’t mean that you should still wear them out on a date or a club night. We suggest that you donate some of them, if still in good shape, or put them somewhere in the back of your closet in case you’re not yet ready to say goodbye. As a replacement, go and find some shirts. Especially the trend of short-sleeved shirts is something you should really look into. We have linked our favorite one for you below. Just take a look.

3. Get a bag

Just because everything you carry around fits in the pockets of your pants or jacket, doesn’t mean you don’t need a bag. In fact, it can not only be a place for your keys, phone and wallet, but it is an accessory. For a start, maybe try out a black belt bag. They are still in style and available as a sporty version or a more elegant leather option. Once you’re used to it, you can branch into more daring models, with cross body chains. The options are endless, and your girlfriend will thank you, when she doesn’t have to make place for your stuff.

4. Accessorize

With the bag, you already have the first accessory that will elevate your look. But of course we don’t stop there. If you’re not already wearing a watch, you should get one. It doesn’t matter if it’s a smartwatch with a nice Milanese strap to go with it or a very masculine steel watch with a big dial. You can also branch into more jewelry. At the moment, really anything goes in men’s style. Pearl chains around the neck, earrings or even layering pieces. Just try it out. Whether you are a “less is more” type or can’t have enough. We have suggestions for you.

5. Add Layers

There is a reason why autumn and spring are the best fashion months. You get to layer things. Whether it is a pullover thrown over your shoulders or the nice pair of socks peaking through between your shoes and the pants. Layering pieces will immediately elevate your style a lot. Some easy tricks to achieve that look is putting pieces together that are harmonious colourwise but different in texture. You could combine a cotton shirt with a knitted piece. Or pair a lightweight T-Shirt with a heavier jacket on top. But be sure that there are always all the layers visible, and stay away from mixing prints or patterns.

With whose tips and our suggested pieces, you’ll master your personal style and bring it to a whole new level, without much effort.
