We show you how you can rock the styles your dad probably already loved in a modern way.
Over the last few years, we have seen some trends that were inspired by the traditional dad look. Whether it were the chunky dad sneakers or the popular outdoor style. What our teenage selves would probably have seen as very cringe to wear, is now trending. We have collected some pieces and styles that are truly fashionable and will withstand the test of time, since already our dads loved those pieces.
1. The Dad Style Sneaker
Like we already mentioned, the dad sneaker has been present for some season. Even in women’s fashion, the chunky sneaker has become a staple piece. So what makes a good dad sneaker? It has to be comfortable, breathable and durable, a dad would probably say. Appearance wise, it has a thick sole, with cushions built in. The materials that are most often used are mesh, nylon and netted fabrics. The colors are usually gray, white or silver. Since the hype started, we have seen several brands put out their take of the dad sneaker. The most popular and the one sneaker that is mostly associated with this trend has to be the New Balance 530. We have linked some for you below, where you can find the classics or more luxury versions.

2. The fleece jacket
This one bringing back memories from bonfire nights, when it is still somewhat summery, but gets chilly in the evenings. That is when all dads bring out their fleece jacket and with that the matching ones for other family members. Actually, the fleece jacket has had its comeback in the past season and with its cozy factor, that is one to stay. Again we have seen this trend on the high street as well as on the runways, and we can’t get enough of it As a layering piece for the winter months or when transitioning into spring, we will most definitely stay warm in that fabric. Here are our favorites for your closet.

3. The Classic Dad Style Jeans
When we envision a classic dad jeans fit, it is one that is slightly tighter fitting on top and has a straight leg. While at the moment the really baggy jeans seems to be trending, this classic fit has still an appeal to younger people as well as our dads. The more tapered fit gives you more shape, and the straight cut will elongate your legs. We still love that style of jeans.

4. The Baseball Cap
The only accessory a dad might wear besides his watch and a wedding band is a classic baseball cap. To be honest, there is nothing more the style really needs. The cap has to have the rounded front and maybe some lettering on it. We don’t need fancy coloring or a big pattern. While for a typical dad it might only serve his needs of having a sun cover, we want it to be some kind of statement piece of course. For you, we have collected our favorites from the current season.
