When spring has sprung, you already know what comes next. The wedding invitations come flooding in. Besides the question of who will be your plus one, your outfit choice is also a very important thing to decide on. Since there will be plenty of photos taken, and you will maybe even find yourself on the couple’s chimney top in one of them, it is important to look good. We show you how you can dress up your outfit for the upcoming wedding season in 2023.
1. Select the right shirt
Most of the other wedding guest will probably stick to the classic black or navy suit with a crisp white shirt under it. That is a foolproof look, but we think that that can be done better. Next to your suit, the shirt is a thing that will be quite essential for any man’s wedding outfit. Instead of opting for a white shirt, feel free to add some color, this is not a business event. If you feel really experimental, you could even go for a pattern. Don’t be too shy to pull off something out of the ordinary.
2. Choose a tie or bow tie
Another way to add some color as a man to your wedding outfit is the selection of the right tie or bow tie. Obviously, we don’t want to go for some pattern that will go out of style quickly. Some ties can be a bit much, so be careful when choosing the one for a wedding. Be bold, but generally stay away from any big patterns or comic-esque prints.
3. Add a pocket square
If a colorful tie or shirt is too much for you and you rather stick to the classic wedding guest attire, that is totally cool. Nevertheless, we feel like everyone can pull off a nice pocket square. Maybe even one of the bridesmaids will shed a tear, and you can give it to her like a true gentleman. If you already chose some color for your shirt or tie, stay within that color theme and don’t go overboard with it, maybe you even find a matching one.
4. Wear the right shoes
While we love anyone who is bold in their fashion choices, you should go the usual routine with your shoes for the wedding. Stick with black or brown dress shoes. Even when there is dancing involved, sneakers are not acceptable in this case. If the wedding is in summer and the weather is almost Mediterranean, you could pull off some sort of loafer, if it suits the occasion. 5. Put on a belt
Once you have chosen your shoes, it is time for the right belt. This is a must-have, not an optional piece, in our opinion. Don’t make a science out of it. Match it to your shoes and roll with it. But rather stay away from big belt buckles, logos or prints, just keep it classy.
6. Wear your favorite watch
Having a great time with your friends is the most important thing, hopefully you all lose track of time while partying. One thing you should not forget is your watch. This is the most perfect accessory for any man, and shouldn’t be forgotten when it comes to the wedding guest outfit. No matter if it is your everyday option or a luxury watch that is only worn on special days, make it part of your look.
7. Don’t forget cuff links
The last thing we want you to add to your wedding outfit is almost the cherry on top. The cuff links are a little detail that really shows that you put in the effort. It is a small element that will give you the je ne sais quoi and will take the look to another level. Here is a place to be playful, get the design that you find most interesting. Match the metal to your watch and later in the evening when the dance floor is packed and the suit jacket comes off they will be your favorite showpiece.
